I wish to buy one flat iron for hair straightening. Can anyone help me in choosing the best one -cheap too?

I got a really curl hair, but the problem is its too soft to work on. I am normally afraid of heating my hair but seeing the beauty of straight hair just can't stop buying a flat iron to make my hair straight. Can anyone help me with a good quality product at a best price. I really don't want to spend more money working on my soft hair and loosing them totally.
