My sister-in-law got it for me at a yard sale practicaly new, but there were not instructions on how to put the extra heating plates on.

They should pop off...
otherwise, they're might be some kind of little button to push to "eject" it.

the best I've had so far is a Remington Wet Straight .
you dont have to tell everything
the brown stuff on there is product residue/buildup.. rub a warm cloth on it or if that doesn't work, Hot Tools has an appliance cleaner that is safe on ceramic. (Sally Beauty Supply). Never heard of a hci, probably a generic chi, Sally's also has a generic chi, dunno if its the hci though…..
Unfortunately they design these things to break after a certain amount of time so that you have to buy a new one from them. Fortunately I think that's B.S. and think you should take it to a large hardware chain and ask a clerk in tools to help you find a screwdriver that will fit those types of screws. I would be surprised if they didn't have one since they make hundreds of different types of screwdrivers and screwdriver shaped ends these days to fit the hundreds of different types of screw heads they retardedly also make these days.
If not the hardware store possibly Radio shack may have them.
i found this flat iron at sams club and it was only $78!!!!!! however it was the pink one! soo…. yeah XD
– thank you!! i’m so excited too! haha
any flat iron from sallys will work great :]
they really have good products there
i personally use and love the General Value Product straigtener there. its like an off brand CHI and it works FANTASTICC!!!
when i was there they said that the GVP straigtener was there best one. they said that ion also makes good striagteners. you can find them at Sally's.
hope this was helpfull :]
okay, so I have very coarse wavy hair and I'm sure that there are only a few that work on mine. I used to have the Chi from Farouk Systems, (the same people who make BioSilk), and that worked great, but the best one that I have found, which has worked beautifully on myself and my sisters whose hair is more like African American curly is called the Solia.
Yes, it's expensive, but mine has lasted constant use for 2 years now…
There's a link to it.
If you're really going to use it a lot, and it really works for you, this one is the best in my opinion, and my hair doesn't get as fried.
The thing with cheaper irons is that they are too coarse or don't heat up hot enough to work right away, and you end up pressing harder to get your hair straight, which increases breakage.
This one heats up in 10 seconds. Has a dial to set to the desired heat intensity, and straightens my hair in one run.
Hope this helps!!!

maxiglide by maxis its great it combs and flat irons th samr time. it sounds odd but its great u can get it most places and its under $100
PLEASE don't use it on wet hair. It will FRY your hair, b/c hair is most sensitive when wet. Also, if you are going to use a flat iron, it should be solid ceramic plates, not ceramic over metal. Sometimes you really have to dig to find out if it is or not. Good luck!
Probably not, seeing that you're buying them off the internet.
